Biographic Synopsis

Nuno Zimas is a Portuguese electronic musician based in Riga, Latvia.

Born in Leiria, Portugal, he started his music career in the late 1990s, producing electronic music that explored a wide range of styles and genres.

Nuno quickly established himself as an artist with a noncommittal approach to music creation, drawing influences from a vast array of genres, including Industrial, IDM, electroacoustic, experimental, post-punk, krautrock, movie scores, synthpop and even some forms of extreme metal.

Nuno's music is often based on complex layering of sounds and textures, combining polyrhythmic electronic beats with atmospheric synth melodies and desolated soundscapes.

After a 20-year hiatus, Nuno relaunched his career in 2020, primarily as a means of coping with the pandemic-related lockdowns.

He has since continued to create and release material that pushes the boundaries of contemporary electronic music classification, always exploring different composition and performance techniques, while steadfastly refusing to be pigeonholed in one particular aesthetic ghetto.

He has played live a handful of times at the legendary Klubs DEPO, in Riga.
